Christianity is not keeping the ten commandments or trying to follow Jesus. It’s something that happens when we begin to realise that Christ has transplanted his emotional centre into the core of our being and shared it fully with us.
The joy, peace, life, and energy that he feels when he hears the father say ‘you are my beloved son’ are what overflow into ‘the fullness of life’ that Jesus promises us. The gospel is simply an invitation to start agreeing with this established reality and to allow our lives to be transfigured by experiencing it.
